Becoming a Patient
Read an introduction from Dr. Hulseman that describes her approach in greater detail.
General information
We at All Aboard Integrative Medicine do not provide primary care services. We expect every patient to maintain a relationship with another family practice provider or pediatrician. If you do not have one, we will assist you in finding a good fit for your family.
While prescription medications are used as part of this practice, the majority of treatments, after diet and lifestyle, are over the counter vitamins or supplements. Quality is very important to us and we ask that you use products we recommend. We carry some products in our office and can order other supplements directly from Full Scripts for you, at reduced prices. For your convenience we also sell supplements through our online store, HulsemanMD.com. You are, of course, welcome to purchase products wherever you like. We caution you not to order from large online retailers, as prices are often inflated and products may not have been stored properly.
Payment and Cancellation Policies
Please read the following information carefully.
To properly care for people with complex medical and developmental challenges takes time. At All Aboard we strive to give each patient the time they need in a relaxed and caring environment. New patient visits last over an hour and follow up visits are 40 to 45 minutes long. This time is set aside specifically for you. We do not overbook appointments. As such, we ask that you please arrive with plenty of time to be prepared for your visit. In addition, we require on-line “paperwork” to be completed by the time of the visit, and ideally the day before, especially for new patients. If you do not have access to a computer, please arrive an extra 30 minutes before your appointment to complete these forms.
We are a fee-for-service-based medical practice. Fees are to be paid in full at the time of the appointment. We do not take any insurance (including Medicaid/Medicare) and do not bill insurance, but we will provide for you to submit to insurance. At the time of registration to our practice, we require a credit or debit card be placed on file. If there is no card on file 48 hours before the appointment we will contact you for payment. If we cannot reach you, your appointment will be canceled.
Because this time is set aside especially for you and because new patients may wait weeks to be seen here, we have a strict No Show and Cancellation policy. No Shows, and Cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment, will be charged the full cost of the visit missed, unless there is a strong explanation (like death in the family or severe illness). For minor illnesses, in office visits can be changed to video.
Personal letters or forms that take the provider more than 10 minutes will be charged by time in 15 minute increments. We ask that you give us at least 1 weeks notice. If you write a first draft it will save us time (and likely you money!).
Phone calls requested by you will also be billed in this fashion.

To schedule an appointment, you may send an e-mail using our contact form. Please include patient’s name, date of birth, address, contact phone number and e-mail. Someone from the practice will contact you within 48 business hours. If we are unable to reach you by phone, we will reach out by responding to that e-mail. All patients must be seen in the office at least yearly. Visits between may be by secure video link. Patients should be present during every visit, but need not be present the entire time for video visits.
On-line scheduling will be available through our secure on-line portal.
Preparing for your appointment
Remember the puzzle piece logo for autism? Each patient has multiple unique issues to deal with. As the parent/guardian you are vital to putting the pieces together. The more you understand the medical issues related to autism (or any other environmentally challenged person) the easier it will be to help your child. To this end, we strongly recommend you educate yourself by attending a New Parent presentation (included with new patient visit) where Dr Hulseman discusses these problems and how to address them. Live presentations with video link will be given every 2 months.
Additional information can be found at www.tacanow.org under resources. This site is reviewed by doctors with MAPS, so the information is medically and scientifically sound.
We require new and follow up forms be done before each visit, as well as ATEC scores. An online checklist can be found here. Patients and the providers have found these forms to be invaluable in deciding the next steps for your child. Please complete them at least 24 hours before the appointment. Please keep in mind that the ATEC score is a subjective score, so to be most useful the same person should complete it each time.
You are welcome to bring activities and snacks for your child during the visit. Please bring quiet activities or headphones for devices. If you bring snacks, please bring items that do not create a mess. We will not have WiFi turned on in our office, so please plan accordingly.
Many of our patients are chemically sensitive, so we ask that you do not wear perfume or cologne when in our office.
Communicating with Staff
Once you have established as a patient, you may communicate with All Aboard staff by phone or thru the EMR portal. Medical questions outside of that will not be answered.
